Vina Aspire attended the meeting between Ho Chi Minh City leaders and businesses and IT experts to build digital transformation strategies

On the afternoon of April 15, Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee organized a meeting between city leaders and businesses and IT experts. Here, many recommendations and proposals aim to implement the city’s digital transformation strategy.

At the beginning of the conference, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Phan Van Mai expressed: “City leaders need to see the headlines and tasks set out in the coming time… The city hopes businesses and scientists will advise the city and the steering committee of the digital transformation program on what needs to be done to transition. successful digital transformation process, thereby replicating it for the whole country.”

At the conference, Mr. Lam Nguyen Hai Long, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City Information Technology Association, affirmed that digital transformation is not only an opportunity but also a responsibility and mission of the city’s IT businesses in implementing the program together with the city. This “Digital transformation must be seen as a tool to break bad habits. Digital transformation has created new industries, business models, and governance models, so if digital transformation is applied to public administration, it will certainly create a public administration model that serves the people in the new formula,” Mr. Long analyzed.

Many comments at the conference suggested that the city needs to have policies to support companies specializing in data and human resource training in this field. Open data needs to be made public to businesses and people, especially small and medium-sized enterprises.

Regarding human resources, Associate Professor – Dr. Vu Hai Quan, Director of Ho Chi Minh City National University, said: “Ho Chi Minh City National University with many advanced IT training programs, the current enrollment scale is 4,350 students in the IT major, so we hope businesses will accompany schools in training to improve human resources.”

Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Phan Van Mai wants scientists, experts, businesses, organizations… to actively participate to complete the mission of digital transformation for the city’s development. Among them, 5 tasks must be done immediately: Establish a mechanism to support businesses participating in digital transformation, in both IT businesses and application businesses; Develop human resource strategy; Strategy to ensure information security; Data Strategy and Build a digital hub for Ho Chi Minh City.
